João Miguel Ramos
São Miguel, Azores, 1994. João Miguel Ramos lives and works between Oporto and the Azores In 2016, João Miguel Ramos finished his degree in Fine Arts - Painting -,at the University of Oporto. His work is highly influenced by the German artists Martin Kippenberger and Albert Oehlen. His body of work, painting and sculpture, reflects about the relationship between: form and content; figuration and abstraction. In January 2019, he took part in the group exhibition Cosmografias, a História e Outras Cores, curated by Luísa Cardoso. In May 2021, João Miguel Ramos, best student at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Oporto, was distinguished with the Viana de Lima Prize. In November 2021, he was also distinguished with the Infanta Dona Maria Francisca Prize, in Painting.
He is represented by Fonseca Macedo Gallery.
